The History of our Farm...
BusyBee Farm is part of the Whitmire Century Family Farm in Transylvania County, which has been recognized by the NC Department of Agriculture as one of only two farms in Transylvania County that has been consistently owned and operated by the same family for over 100 years. So, we've got a century of family farming under our belt - well, several belts!
Visit the Transylvania Heritage Museum to view a copy of The Whitmire American Family Farm by Jackie & Jimmy Whitmire, Brittany's parents. It weaves together the stories that have been part of the culture of farming for this family, as well as the ways in which the current generation (BusyBee Farm) is connecting to the community through local foods production, on-farm educational programs, and community service.
